1 You have good focus throughout & many types of contrast: light/dark. simple/complex, positive/negative space, & horizontal/vertical movements. You found pattern, shapes & linear elements. To improve the composition, move the tall vertical line a bit more to the right to create more asymmetrical balance. Of course, there are many variations & slight adjustments that might improve the image. Maybe you also shot others as part of your process? I’ll look for them in your ALL folder. For example, would it be an improvement to see the complete curve form, on the top right of the image rather than being cut off? That would also reduce the amount of the space at the bottom for more contrast in the positive/negative space. It’s great that you shot a vertical.
2. This image is not as exciting as the first. The interruption to the net pattern, the hole, attracts the eye & becomes the focal point, but my eye stops there. To help direct the eye around the composition, try to relate the focal point to each edge of the frame differently. Right now, the distance from the focal point to the top of the frame & the distance to the right side are almost equal. More visual variety is needed, especially since there are so few elements in this image. The spacial difference around the focal point would activate the space a bit more.
3. In this image, the object in the background on the right is very out of focus and distracting. Since everything should be in sharp focus for this project, maybe just get rid that area by either shifting the frame or shooting a vertical. Also, the focal point could be shifted more to the left & maybe lower, to create an asymmetrical balance. Asymmetrical balance helps to activate a composition & move the eye. If the eye is moving around the image, the viewer will continue viewing. If not, the viewer gets bored & moves on.
4. There is good color contrast in this image & the diagonal line creates dynamic movement from top to bottom (or bottom to top). The focal point not only slows the eye down as it travels along the line, but also creates movement in the opposite direction. These opposing movements keep the viewer’s eye moving & interested. The similar texture throughout the image creates unity. The focal point could be just a little lower in the frame, so it’s further from the center to activate the space.

5. Still to come, I suppose.
